Connect this adapter directly to the output of a laptop and use a DVI-D cable to connect to a display.

Note: This adapter is not designed to support analog signals. This adapter should be used to connect an HDMI device to a display which accepts a DVI-D digital video input or to connect a DVI-D device to an HDMI display. This adapter is not capable of connecting a HDMI device to a VGA device.
